and site use

Ventura Contemporary Art, London. Where we sell a work on behalf of a consignor we sell as their agent and say so at the time; where we own the work we sell as principal.

Prices on this site are in pounds sterling. Works marked price on application are quoted in writing on enquiry. Availability is live but not instantaneous — where two collectors reach us within the same hour, the first to confirm in writing takes the work. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance; a sale is made when we issue an invoice and you pay it.

Bank transfer for works. Works leave the gallery on cleared funds. Where anti‑money‑laundering checks apply we will ask for identification and source of funds before we can complete; this is not optional for either of us.

Title passes on receipt of the full purchase price in cleared funds. Risk passes on delivery or, where you arrange collection, on hand‑over to your shipper.

Every work is sold as viewed. Condition notes and full‑resolution images are available before purchase for any work, and we would rather you asked twice. Dimensions are given height before width, unframed unless stated. Colour on screen is indicative.

We warrant that each work is by the artist to whom it is attributed, and we stand behind that warranty without time limit to the original purchaser. If a work we have sold is shown by the artist’s recognised authority to be otherwise, we refund the purchase price in full against return of the work in the condition in which it left us.

Consumers buying at distance may cancel within fourteen days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, and we will refund on return of the work in unchanged condition, with return carriage at your cost unless the work was misdescribed. Commissioned framing and bespoke work is excluded. Trade and collector purchases made after viewing in person are final.

We pack and ship worldwide through fine‑art carriers. Quoted freight excludes local import duty and taxes, which are yours. Works over fifty years old or above value thresholds may require a UK export licence; we handle the application and will tell you if it affects your timetable.

Buying a work does not buy its copyright. Images on this site remain the property of the artists, their estates and their photographers, and may not be reproduced without permission. Press images are available through the press room.

We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Otherwise our liability in connection with a sale is limited to the price paid for the work. We are not liable for indirect loss, including loss of profit or of anticipated resale value.

Write to either partner; we answer everything ourselves. These terms and any dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
