Davenport was in Freeze at twenty-two and Turner-nominated at twenty-five, and has spent the years since narrowing rather than broadening: paint poured down a surface in adjacent lines, pooling at the bottom into what he calls the puddle.
The discipline is in the colour order. Each work is a decision about sequence and interval, made once, with no way to revise it.
He works with us on both new and secondary-market pieces, and the large aluminium panels are the ones to hold.
