Bronze hares mid-leap, wit cast at monumental scale
Flanagan spent the 1960s making sculpture out of sand, rope and cloth, then in 1979 cast a hare — and found a figure elastic enough to carry everything he wanted to say for the next thirty years.
The hares box, dance, balance on anvils and ride horses. They are funny at first sight and considerably less so on the second.
The market is well-documented and the editions are small. We source from private collections and advise on siting and installation, indoors or out.
