Angular figures braced against the weather of their moment

Chadwick trained as an architectural draughtsman and came to sculpture through mobiles, which shows: the standing figures are welded frames filled with composite, all edge and tension.
He won the International Sculpture Prize at Venice in 1956, ahead of Giacometti, and was for a decade the most visible British sculptor alive. The reputation dipped and has recovered strongly.
The bronzes handle outdoor siting well. We advise on edition, patina and placement.
